Addressing Foundations (Part Four)

Let’s use today to focus on the new creature deception. Whenever the issue of foundations and ones bloodline comes up, it usually causes a divide amongst Christians. Christians are usually divided along two major opinions.

There are those who quote: 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV, which says:
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Those who quote the text believe that, A Christian cannot be under foundational, Ancestral or bloodlines curse and patterns.
With their major backing being the above text, I thought to myself, this people have the ‘New Creature Misunderstood”. This misunderstanding I termed the New Creature deception.

One of the rules of scripture interpretation is understanding context. Context implies deriving meaning using the environment of the text.
It is like using a general sentence to identify the meaning of a word.
For instance, If I say, “He is acting like a fool, it’s like His head has gone “KumKum””. you don’t know the meaning of the word “KumKum”, but from the general idea of the sentence; the environment of the word, you can make correct deductions on the meaning of the word. So context is very important in understanding scriptures.

To Understand context, Let’s see 2 Corinthians 5:16, then we get to seventeen.
‭‭2 Corinthians 5:16-17 KJV‬‬ says: Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Back in Verse 15, it concludes that since Christ died for all, then all were dead and should live unto Him who died and rose again for them. And then it goes forward to say, that we trust No Man’s flesh, and we do not even recognise Christ after the flesh.
Therefore in view of this, we do not know any man after the flesh, not even christ. It is vain for any man to profess relationship with Christ according to the flesh, while He is unchanged in heart and life and dead in trespasses and sin.

Notice How the emphasis is mainly on Lifestyle: It shows us that the “New Creature is New Man with a New Life. So on first emphasis, The “Old thing” is simply The Old life (Amplified calls it “previous Moral and Spiritual Conditions).
But let’s not stop there: Because going further, we find something unique. Romans 12:2 introduces something unique.
The text says: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

See How the text begins by saying, Don’t conform to this world? The CEB Bible version says: Don’t be like people of this world, But let God change the way you think.
What is key here is that we are able to see that: The Transformed mind of the believer is what releases him to enjoy the full treasures of God: and guess what: This transformation is gradual, it’s a process: Hence the word “Renewing Of The Mind”.

The Holy Spirit shows us Here that, Transformation is not as is perceived by some. The New creature is not born a giant, He is born a baby. And so He has to learn and Mature into all all things that pertains to spiritual life. So in reality, being born again changes who you are spiritually, but it doesn’t disconnect you from who you used to be automatically (this disconnection is a process). The disconnection has to happen through the renewing of the mind which is what initiates the transformation process.
It’s like this: A baby eagle is an eagle, But it cannot fly: It needs a renewed Mind, Maturity and process to learn the concept of flight.

What we are saying is this: Lifestyle (which ofcourse is a product of the Mind) is what God uses to Mature us to heights spiritually where we become powerful enough to destroy the works of the devil.
Please take note of this, it is very important. Lifestyle is extremely important. For instance, a Christian who doesn’t have a prayer lifestyle, though born again will suffer great demonic oppression.

Write this down: Deliverance from Ancestral powers is not automatic because One is Born Again, It is deliberate and intentional. Remember the Bible says, the violent takes it by force. When you become a new creature, you are endued with great power and capacity to release a dimension of spiritual violence that will take anything from Satan by force.
To take back your Life, you have to become stronger than the strong Man, enter his palace, and take everything that is yours that has come under the power of the strong Man.
The New creature is usually seen as a soldier of the Lord, A soldier is a fighter, not a title bearer: If you don’t fight, the devil will control you until He messes you up.

ADDRESSING FOUNDATIONS: LEARN YOUR BACKGROUND. Part Five.

To all Christians, it is wisdom to do deep research on your Family, and learn about your Family History, ancestry and heritage.
There are several reasons why it is important to study our History, Understand our bloodline and heritage; One of the profound reasons why it’s important to study your genealogical past is because, History provides context for understanding current events, social issues, and political systems. Someone said, Studying History is important because, History doesn’t stay Behind Us. I believe that History is a continously dynamic concept always repeating itself in an infinite loop of repeated sequence.

Let me break this statement down:
That statement expresses a concept about History which is known as continuous dynamism. Let’s break down each part:

1. Continuous dynamism highlights that history isn’t seen as a static collection of facts or a linear progression. Instead, it’s understood as something that is constantly in motion, evolving, and being reinterpreted as time passes and new perspectives emerge. The meaning and significance of historical events can shift depending on the present context.
2. Continous dynamism points to the idea of historical recurrence. This means that similar patterns, events, and even challenges tend to reappear throughout history, though perhaps in different forms or with different actors.
3. And finally, Continous dynamism emphasizes the cyclical nature and the lack of a definitive end or truly novel occurrence. The “infinite loop” suggests that these repeating patterns will continue indefinitely. The “repeated sequence” implies that there are identifiable stages or phases within these cycles that tend to follow each other.
   Continous Dynamism simply impliea that Nothing is truly new.
   Now, The Bible holds the view of continous dynamism. Let’s see Ecclesiastes 1:9 KJV, it says:
   What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
   Verse 10 says: Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

Beloved, Understanding the past is crucial for the present and future: By recognizing these repeating sequences, we can gain insights into current situations and potential future outcomes.
The past is never really PAST, It’s just mystery that needs to be studied.

By studying the past, we can better comprehend the complexities of the world we live in today.

Now that we know that History repeats itself, whether Negative or positive, one way to avoid this repitition is by studying the past, noting patterns and avoiding their repetition. Studying the past Helps you to undertand patterns, it teaches you How to deal with the present and avoid Negative patterns or ensure positive patterns occuring.

History teaches us about the consequences of certain actions and decisions. By learning from past mistakes, people can strive to avoid repeating them in the future.

It’s important to also note that Our History helps us understand our cultural heritage and identity. It allows us to appreciate the traditions, beliefs, and values that have shaped our societies over time.
Many times, when God speaks to us, its from an Historical view point. See what He said to Joshua. Joshua 1:5 says: No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Notice How God used History to properly defined His level of commitment to Joshua? He is doing thesame today. Humans are taught to let the past stay in the past, spiritual beings however know, that, The past always repeats itself. So they dont joke with it. This is why you will find In scriptures that God’s partners with certain families and for others, He orders their complete destruction.
If God doesn’t ignore patterns, I wonder why you do.

I remember a very wealthy brother who due to His ignorance of his family culture and heritage, Lost everything He had and became poor. After much research through the Help of the prophetic, He identified the source of his misfortune and contended with the forces of his Father’s House for about Ten Years before Getting his victory. Today, He has his glory restored. If he had knowledge about His past, It would have saved him Many years Of torture.

There are ladies who are from Families where the Husband’s don’t like their wives. No matter how “In Love” they are at the initial, once they come under the banner of Marriage, The ancestral pattern starts repeating itself.
I was Ministering to someone some times back, and while deep in prayers: The lord said, Tell her to pray for Her children, else what Happened to Her will also happen to Her children.

What I have found is that, the first reason for the defeat of Believers in most spiritual battles is Ignorance.
Hosea 4:6 reads: my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

Can you see this astonishing truth? God’s people, HolyGhost filled believers, can be destroyed for lack of knowledge? To the believer, Ignorance is not a plus, but a Minus.
2 Corinthians 2:11 says: in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

Beloved, You need to study and know your foundation. It will save you years of torture and oppression.
Have you noticed that The first book of the New testament, Matthew introduces the person of Jesus to us by telling us first about His bloodline, His heritage and his ancestry.
‭‭Matthew 1:1 KJV‬‬ begins like this: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

If God thought it important to talk about Jesus’ Earthly ancestry, I wonder why you think yours is not important.

Beloved, You need to study your ancestry, know who’s blood you have in your veins and know what that blood carries. The Lord Help us all in Jesus Name.

For Many persons, there is a strong desire to step into The New. “The New” can be many things, it can be securing a great job, travelling out, getting your kids settled, rising to new levels, building a house or owning a property; “the new” can extend to securing political position etc. ‘The New’ is basically a desired future.
There is an intense clamour for change in today’s world. People just want to have things better: because a lot of folks are exhausted with their present. It’s not a today thing, Our society has always been alive and active with ambitions of people who want to make their lives better.

As I go through the scriptures however, I found a unique and interesting relationship. It is the relationship between The Old and The New. It appears to me as though there is a tie or chord that binds The Old to the New.
For any believer to successfully navigate the present to attain a better future, the past has to be properly studied, analysed and handled properly.
The relationship between the old and the new is often one of continuity and evolution. The “old” represents our past, while the “new” signifies innovation, change, and progress and future.

Evolution and continuity because the future is not predetermined; it is influenced by our actions in the present, which are often informed by our past experiences. Thus, while the past provides a foundation, it is our present actions and choices that shapes the direction and possibilities of the future. Meaning that, The past, the present and the future are all connected. That is, The Old, The Now And the New are all wired together; it is impossible for the new to exist without the old. All futures are built on the past and present.
Understanding this relationship can help us learn from the past, live in the present, and work towards shaping a better future.

In 1 Kings 18:30, we see that As Elijah sought to lead Israel into a new season, His first action was repairing the Lord’s alter. It reads:
And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. AND HE REPAIRED THE ALTAR OF THE LORD THAT WAS BROKEN DOWN.”

Write this down: To experience the new, you have to fix the Old.
Don’t forget that in 1 Kings 18:1, God said to Elijah, Go shew yourself to Ahab and I will send rain upon the Earth.
If you look at the Lord’s statement, it would appear as though God was going to send rain now whether the condition be right or wrong. This is the thought and thinking of Many today when we receive a prophetic word/ promise. We conclude that since God has spoken, we don’t have to do anything while we wait on the promise.

But if you observe, God did absolutely nothing and change absolutely nothing until the altar of the Lord that was broken was fixed.

Write this down: You are not ready for change until you are ready to fix the Old things in your Life.
This is what Jesus was doing with the rich young ruler. Matthew 19:21-22 NIV reads:
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

This rich Man was spiritual, by today’s standard: this guy should be Holy Ghost filled, tongue speaking, maybe pastoring: But you see, In the midst of all that spirituality, This brother was in love with His wealth. His wealth was the old thing in his life stopping him from walking with the Lord when God called him into THE NEW.

The question now becomes, What are the Old things in my Life that needs to go away for the new thing to step in?
In Numbers 20:10-13, we find that Moses’s ultimate downfall was due to his Anger: His uncontrolled emotions always got the best of Him. He is the guy who destroys the tablet of the Ten Commandments written in God’s hand. He is the guy who in Anger kills an Egyptian.
The scriptures however makes it clear that Moses never dealt with his Anger. He was spiritual, But failed to fix the Old thing in his Life and that stopped the fulfillment of God’s initial plan for his Life.
There are things in your Life today that is killing the prophetic word hanging over your Life.

Whatever you refuse to kill today, will come back to hunt you tomorrow. Now is the time to shut the devil up.

So, As you desire to break generational or foundational curses, One key thing you need to look out for is the Old thing in your Life that had never left, even though you are a giant in the realms of the spirit.
This Old things are Portals, gatways, entry points or access points through which Satan controls destinies and people.
A few examples of this access points are:
Lust, Pride, Envy, Unforgiveness, Adultery, Fornication, Sexual perversions, Abusing Of One’s spouse (physically, emotionally and intellectually) and Many more.
This access points are entry points through which, Old things flows into New things.
So the first step to gaining deliverance from generational patterns and ancestral curses is by closing those entry/ access points.

Take note of this: No amount of prayer can Help you, until the access points are closed. This access points are closed Manually not automatically, this is why your born again experience doesn’t automatically end generational curses and patterns. As long as the door is open, Nothing will stop Satan from coming in.

In mathematics, common denominators occur when different fractions share the same denominator.
Spiritually speaking, a “common denominator” within a bloodline or family refers to a shared characteristic, trait, pattern or circumstances found in multiple individuals within thesame bloodline.

What I mean by Common denominator in a spiritual sense is what Is found in one person within a bloodline or Family that is also found in another or in several others.

If you will read Genesis 26:6-11.
Isaac is following directly in his father’s footsteps. Abraham of course lied about Sarah being his sister while in Egypt in Genesis 12, and then again in Genesis 20 to Abimelech, king of Gerar. “Abimelech” was a dynastic title, so Abraham and Isaac did not lie to the same person, but to different people who held the same office at different times.

See Genesis 20:2 KJV (Abraham Lies).
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.

Now, Let’s See Isaac telling thesame lie about His wife.
Genesis 26:7 KJV
And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

It’s amazing how Two different Men Of thesame bloodline, from different time periods tell thesame lie. One of the things that I have pondered on over time is How thesame situation presents itself again and puts Isaac in the position to tell “Abraham’s lies” to another Abimelech..

If you will study the scripture further, you will find that Jacob falls into another kind of deception. In his case, it’s another lie, but this time, He is the recipient of the lie. Jacob is deceived into Marrying the wrong woman after seven years of labour. But let’s not forget that, Jacob told one of the greatest lies, if not the greatest lie in the Bible. Jacob told a lie that makes Him take his brothers blessings. Abraham lied, Isaac lied, But Jacob improved on the lies to become a deciever. And so the line continues, with this trait evolving into extreme forms. Study the story of Jacob and his sons very well, You will see that lying spirit evolving to extreme height.

What I am trying to show you is this: There is something about the bloodline that will transfer both blessings and curses to next generations. Offcourse they are ways to break this patterns, but it requires great efforts, sacrifice and labour. That’s where Many believers fall short: they are not willing to pay the price to be free, they prefer to use scriptures to cover up weakness and laziness.

Now there’s what I call “The New Creature deception” regarding this Matter. Many would quote, if a Man be in Christ, He is a new creature, Old things are passed away and all things have become new. That scripture is 100% true, but greatly misrepresented. I will deal on this indepthly tomorrow.

But I want to make the submission that, God’s word doesn’t stir up confusion. The confusion that births the new creature deception is from the oversimplification of Bible truths. Let me emphasize that, Abraham is no ordinary figure in the scripture, But if someone like Abraham can transfer a lying spirit to his very godly seed, then foundational spirits need to be addressed more.

Lets consider another perspective: Abraham, the Father of the Faith committed sins that were passed down to his son, grandsons and even great grand sons. Like all children, Isaac imitated both the good and the bad that he saw in his dad. What a warning for all of us! As parents, there is a need to be very careful with what you do, your children don’t have to see you doing it, they don’t even have to hear you doing it. Whatever is in you automatically gets updated into their own DNA and blood. Don’t be an Adulterous Father, The wife beater, don’t be A Nagging wife, The Adulterous Woman, Don’t be the unserious believer, Don’t be the prayer less parent: Because children and your children children’s have a way of taking your negatives and multiplying it to several heights.

Be very careful of sinful living. The Lord Help us all. Amen.

A research on a buildings foundation from a structural perspective reveals very interesting details about the importance of a buildings foundation. Here are few reasons why the foundation is very important: Structural stability, Load distribution, protection against environmental factors, support for infrastructure and long term durability.
In essence, foundations serve as the anchor upon which the entire building rests, playing a fundamental role in ensuring its safety, stability, and longevity. Without a strong foundation, the integrity of the entire structure would be compromised, highlighting the critical importance of this essential building component.
What I really want to do is introduce you to the concept of foundations from a biblical perspective.
Let’s see Psalm 11:3 KJV.
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Many times, Preachers have used this text when referring to issues pertaining to blood line patterns, Fathers House, Mother’s House and a whole lot of spiritual issues that borders on one’s background.
While such analysis is not wrong, I would like to emphasize what the lord was emphasising through David with Psalm 11:3.

The text is more about principles and culture than it is about Ones earthly background. In a more general sense, it speaks to the ruin a society will face when the most basic aspects of godliness (which is the foundation of Israel as a society) are removed.

The emphasis Here is on the idea that Every society is built on principles or laws. This principles & laws becomes the foundation of authority within the land. Now, imagine what Happens when Godly authority collapses, imagine what Happens when a nation falls into the control of the ungodly, The first point of attack is what constitutes it’s foundation.

Offcourse this does not in anyway mean that the righteous are completely handicapped when the foundations be broken. if they are willing to rebuild like Ezra or Elijah, then that which is lost can be restored.

The Story Of Ahab and Elijah gives an interesting insight on this subjecr. Ahab was an evil king who ruled over Israel, and His eadership brought about the destruction of foundational principles of the nation. Well, that led to Over three years of drought (No rain for three years in Israel). Well, the first reason why God even allowed that was because Foundational principles were abandoned.
If you will observe However, At Elijah’s return on Mount Carmel, As He tried to perform his own sacrifice: The first thing He did was to repair the Lord’s broken altar, then arranged the Twelve stones which symbolises the whole Israel: This were very symbolic action.
Observing the text, you will find that Before rain came, Elijah had killed all the false prophets that were present there on Mount Carmel. This three actions represents the restoration of the collapsed principles, culture, tradition and ways of Gods people.

My emphasis today is simple, Foundations are our core principles and values. It is what spiritual relationships are built upon. It is important for all believers to fully understand the foundation upon which their relationship with the Lord is built upon. Believers need to understand the do’s and the don’ts, the principles of Faith, What Holiness Means, what principles guide righteousness, the culture of giving, tithing, seed sowing and offerings etc.
We do great damage to our spiritual walk with God when we ignore the foundations upon which our kingdom culture is built upon.
Let me list again the importance of structural foundations which I found to also be relevant to the spiritual foundation. They are;
Structural stability, Load distribution (ability to carry the weight of the house), protection against environmental factors, support for infrastructure and long term durability (long life of the building).

Think about this importance and relate it to your own spiritual life.
